The Ward Chili Party

Please note the craftsmanship of this poster: dried bean boarder, exquisite poster board and adorable conceptual 'barbed' cut out of the wording. Best ward poster ever. This is the same party that was decorated with Brooke's clogging outfits, and the same party in which I won the "Hottest Chili" award.

The FLY IN

If you squint really hard, in that trailer behind the white plane, my husband is flipping pancakes. Can't see him? Take my word for it. He is an excellent pancake maker.

Olivia enjoyed the fly in near the runway in the dirt. She had lots of fun putting dirt EVERYWHERE on her self. Which of the Peanuts Gang does she look like?? Yes, when she walked there were puffs of dirt flying everywhere.

Nathan enjoyed the fly in by petting dogs, looking at planes and then by being strolled by me or by Olivia. I would have to say he was pretty relaxed much of the time.

The High School Rodeo

Same day as the Fly-In. This is the time when our backyard looks like a horsey hotel. This pic is taken from the front porch. And we wonder why it is we have so many flies in the house now.

The POLO GAME



Out of sequence, we went to the polo game earlier in the month. This is in Sheridan when Nathan and I went to visit Brooke over labor day. Very busy time to be in Sheridan. And a very hot time in Sheridan, I nearly melted. There are rodeo's, picnic's and plenty of other events going on. But be aware that the Trolley has stopped running by then. You CAN still get ice cream at the park, at least until it runs out. Oh, and all of the stores are closed...just so you know.

The Pirate Costume

Most recently: Nathan has decided to be a pirate for Halloween. And a darn good one he makes! With passion he yells out the pirate ARRRHHGG! And will let you know in a most determined voice that the 'Scurvy Pirate' must WALK THE PLANK! I'm excited by the make-up options of this costume. And happy that he likes both the rag hat AND eye patch.

Another Ultra Sound

I went in for my 24 week check up yesterday. And, for whatever reason, was measuring at 29 weeks. This means that in four weeks I have gained 9 cm. My weight gain isn't much, so that has nothing to do with it. I was sent in for another Ultra Sound just to make sure things were going okay. My Doc, Ruth Z. thought maybe the baby was just laying weird or perhaps I had some extra fluid going on. So I went in, and got another good look at the BOY. (Certainly no doubts about it. I also got some much cuter pictures...so that's a plus.) And of course my Ultra Sound person didn't have anything conclusive to say to me, other than the baby is 1 lb and 8oz. ( He was 11 oz. four weeks ago) and that things with him looked to be pretty good. She showed me the placenta and said it a good safe distance away from the baby. So I guess that's good too. She didn't tell me anything about excessive fluid.

Anyhow, I guess it will be a few days before the hospital report will be typed up and delivered to my Dr. office to find out if there's any cause for concern.

The funny thing is that he felt like he was high yesterday. His little feet were right up under my ribs. Now today he feels much lower, like where he should be. So I'm thinking he was just laying weird yesterday.

Anyway, I'm hoping it's nothing, and the info I'm finding on the Internet says things like: "2nd pregnancies can do that (measure larger) because you've been stretched out before." Or that "it could be related to Gestational Diabetes" or "Not to worry, every pregnancy is different" or "possible genetic abnormalities" could be cause of extra amniotic fluid. So there is a varied opinion about measuring larger than you're supposed to. They also say that Ultra Sounds can be way off on the weight of a child. That they are only estimates.

Naturally, (and obviously) I'm a little worried. I did call the Dr. Office today and they said they would call when they have the information. This, to me, reflects that nothing urgent is apparent. So that's a little bit comforting. I do have my glucose test next time I go in. Oi...the things we have to worry about when we're pregnant.

Anyway, any experience with this? Your know how would be greatly appreciated.

ONE of THOSE days!

I set out to accomplish a lot today...and I did. But it was two steps forward and one step back, all morning long.

I swept and mopped the floor, only to drop eggs on it. I made squash soup, only to lose my digital timer in it. (now broken.) I baked cupcakes and had Nathan help me frost them, only to throw three away because he coughed and sneezed directly into them. Had lunch made, 15 minutes too late for my husband to eat it with me. Had the garbage out on time, but not as full as I would have desired. I wore the sandals that hurt my back because they were closest. I got halfway down the hill with the garbage before I had to go back to the house and get the letter I needed to put in the mail. Just one dumb thing after another. And it's got me all tuckered out. So I'm going to move the clean laundry somewhere and take a nap.

(After Nap) So I did nap, and was awakened by Shane, who came home early from work with horrible stomach problems. Then Nathan fell out of his Big Boy Bed and woke up with a Big BANG on his head. He hit a bed rail and sliced open his head, which bled profusely. We decided against the emergency room because it's a short slice and his eyes weren't dilated. Now there's a big old goose egg on his head with a slice in it. Yikes, today will be a good one to get done with :o)

Things going on!

I haven't posted in a while, and things are going on so I thought I better list some items out, until I get some photos and stories to go with them.

*A little voice calling from the bathroom "Help Me Please! I'm stuck!" as he forgot to put his little seat on the toilet and had indeed fallen it. (Shane and I couldn't help but laugh and laugh.)
